Poll Worker Information
Join our special group of civic-minded citizens who are trained and ready to serve the community when elections are scheduled in Suwannee County. Poll workers perform a valuable community service by assisting voters at the precinct polling sites on election day. Poll workers are paid for their service.
If you are interested in becoming one of these committed individuals, call the Supervisor of Elections Office at (386) 362-2616 and ask for a poll worker application to be sent to you, or download an application online. Completed applications can be returned by mail or dropped off in person:

Poll Worker Requirements
To become a poll worker, you must:

Be a citizen of the United States

Be registered to vote in Suwannee County

Be able to speak, read, and write the English language

Have transportation to the polling place and training sessions

Be available and physically able to work from 6:00 a.m. to after 7:00 p.m.

Interact with the public in a courteous, patient, and professional manner
Training and Expectations
Poll workers must attend mandatory training before each election. Florida law requires a specific number of training hours based on your position. These sessions cover proper Election Day procedures and operation of optical scan and touchscreen tabulation equipment. The number of workers needed depends on the size of the election and anticipated voter turnout.
